The design is based on the character of the site and tries to use its potential as much as possible. The building forms the letter X in plan. Two elongated volumes cut into the slope along the northern edge of the plot. Instead of creating a barrier along the road, the building appears as a freestanding object in the landscape.
The entrance hall contains a staircase connecting the lower level, partly embedded in the terrain, with the main floor. Lit parts of the lower level are used for foresters' offices, while inspection rooms with sanitary facilities are placed at the ends and can also be used as offices when needed.
The material and structural concept combines a monolithic lower floor, partly set into the ground, with a timber structure above. The concrete ceiling over the lower level forms the base for the wooden construction. The roof and facade continue the idea of a restrained, durable building connected to the surrounding landscape.
