An independent project of simple furniture, accessories and toys for children's rooms. Eight prototypes were produced with these requirements: minimalism as timelessness, growing with children visually and ergonomically, efficient board thickness to minimise waste, and non-metal slide-in joints that allow repeated assembly and disassembly. Each part is a precisely CNC-machined piece of birch plywood. The parts connect by sliding into one another without additional metal fasteners or components.
Prototype 01: Simple wall shelf
Timeless, minimal and grown-up.
Assembly by simple slide-in joints, without metal fasteners.
Production can be easily modified to change the number and size of individual compartments.
Ideal depth for displaying toys and books.
Blue pigment tint in oil-wax finish.
Prototype 02: Large/small desk
The growing height allows two levels, for children and adults. By adding transverse base pieces, the tabletop rises to a standard desk height, so the table can keep serving regardless of the children's age.
A large 1.8 m long free work surface is the basis for a great table for playing, making and school preparation. Storage for everything needed is designed under the tabletop.
Assembling the table without a single metal component, only by sliding the plywood parts together and, if needed, using a rubber mallet, takes just a few minutes.
The reward is, among other things, the beautiful grain of the 12 mm birch plywood board finished with white oil.
